PPA reports 5 new COVID-19 cases

Five more employees at the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) head office in Manila and the Port of Manila have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections to 45.

PPA General Manager Jay Daniel Santiago confirmed the additional cases on Tuesday morning.

The newly infected workers, like the previous 40, are asymptomatic and have been isolated.

If any of the infected personnel develop symptoms within five days, they will undergo confirmatory RT-PCR testing.

PPA operations remain uninterrupted as most affected employees are office-based and are working from home.
