Chinese kidnap victim with POGO links freed: PNP
A Chinese national linked to the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) industry was abducted in Bustos, Bulacan, by four armed men while fishing in the Angat River.
Despite a ransom of approximately P5 million paid in cryptocurrency, the victim was released early Wednesday morning in Manila.
The victim underwent medical examination and debriefing by the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG).
PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo stated that the victim was able to visit his wife who gave birth early Wednesday morning.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the release area for clues and have identified persons of interest.
