Poe says selfies prove nothing, affirms no known ties with Alice Guo

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. stated that his selfies with Bamban Mayor Alice Guo prove nothing, as he generally obliges requests for photos.

Marcos Jr. made these remarks when asked about photos of him with Guo, following his earlier statement that he did not know the mayor, who is currently under scrutiny.

The President emphasized that taking selfies with people does not signify any endorsement or familiarity, citing the numerous photos he takes during campaigns.

He also noted that there are no definitive conclusions yet regarding the executive branch's investigation into Mayor Guo, whose background and identity have raised questions.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has recommended the suspension of Mayor Guo by the Office of the Ombudsman due to inconsistencies in her background and her inability to answer basic questions during a Senate inquiry.
