POC Pres Tolentino named Exec of Year anew

Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) President Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino will be honored as the Executive of the Year at the San Miguel Corporation-Philippine Sportswriters Association (SMC-PSA) Annual Awards Night on January 27.

This award recognizes Tolentino's role in overseeing Team Philippines' participation and performance at the Paris Olympics.

Under his leadership, Team Philippines achieved its best-ever Olympic showing in Paris, securing two gold medals through gymnast Carlos Yulo, along with two bronze medals from Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas.

This marks the third consecutive time Tolentino, who also serves as the mayor of Tagaytay City, will receive this prestigious award from the PSA, having previously won it in 2021 and 2022.

Gymnast Carlos Yulo, a multiple gold medalist in Paris, will be among the top awardees celebrated at the event, often referred to as the "Oscars of Philippine Sports."
