The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that over P43.3 billion worth of illegal drugs have been seized during the first three years of the Marcos administration.
This amount is three times higher than the P14.3 billion worth of illegal drugs seized during the same period in the Duterte administration.
PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo attributed the significant increase to a focused approach on high-impact operations.
Fajardo stated that the PNP, along with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), are concentrating on dismantling major drug syndicates and intercepting large shipments.
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has also directed law enforcers to target small-scale drug dealers while ensuring strict adherence to due process in all anti-drug operations.
