PNP sanctions over 32,000 cops since 2016

The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that 32,698 police officers have been sanctioned for various administrative offenses from July 2016 to November 26, 2025.

During this period, 9,027 officers were dismissed from the service, with 1,037 of them implicated in drug-related offenses.

Additional disciplinary actions include the demotion of 1,725 officers and the suspension of 15,311 personnel.

Other sanctions imposed are salary forfeiture for 1,221 officers, reprimands for 4,355, restrictions for 528, and the withholding of privileges for 531 officers.

The PNP stated that these actions demonstrate its commitment against rogue cops and its stance against illegal drugs.

In the first 92 days of PNP acting chief Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.'s term, 1,339 administrative cases involving 2,308 personnel were resolved.
