PNP rewards P10.6 million to informants for arrests of 30 wanted individuals

Informants received over P10.6 million from the Philippine National Police (PNP) for providing tips that led to the arrest of 30 wanted individuals nationwide.

PNP acting chief Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. stated the rewards serve as an incentive to encourage citizens to provide information leading to arrests.

The highest individual reward was P5.3 million for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in seven counts of multiple murder and 25 counts of frustrated murder.

Other cases for which informants were rewarded include rape, kidnapping, and illegal detention, among others.

The reward distribution ceremony was held at the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
