PNP says number of violators of ECQ now over 70k
As of Tuesday, March 31, 2020, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that over 70,000 individuals nationwide have violated the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) guidelines.
Of the total violators, 39,866 were recorded in Luzon, while the remaining were from the Visayas and Mindanao.
Authorities have arrested 19,340 violators, fined 3,829, and issued warnings to 48,423 individuals.
Additionally, 601 individuals were arrested for hoarding, profiteering, and price manipulation.
The enhanced community quarantine in Luzon is set to last until April 14, with other provinces in the Visayas and Mindanao also implementing similar measures.
As of March 31, the Philippines reported over 2,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
