PNP reports 346 COVID-19 cases, 176 recoveries

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has reported 346 confirmed COVID-19 cases among its personnel, with a recovery rate of 50.86% as 176 officers have recovered.

The PNP attributes this high recovery rate to intensified mass testing, extensive contact tracing, treatment of confirmed cases, and isolation of suspected cases.

There are 148 patients in quarantine facilities, two in hospitals, and 16 under home quarantine.

The PNP is also monitoring 675 probable cases and 717 suspect cases among its ranks.

A total of 2,144 personnel have completed self/home quarantine under strict medical observation.

The death toll among PNP personnel due to COVID-19 stands at four.

Last week, it was reported that over 60 percent of the infected cops were from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and were deployed in checkpoint duties.
