PNP: Focus crimes down 14% in Jan. 1–Oct. 9, 2025 period
The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported a 14% decrease in focus crimes nationwide from January 1 to October 9, 2025, compared to the same period in 2024.
A total of 27,306 focus crimes were recorded in 2025, down from 31,878 in 2024, according to PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño.
Focus crimes include murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, robbery, theft, carnapping of motor vehicles, and carnapping of motorcycles.
Rape incidents saw the largest reduction at 22%, followed by robbery with a 17.35% decrease.
Physical injury and robbery incidents also declined, with decreases of 16.42% and 16.21%, respectively.
Additionally, no looting incidents have been reported in Davao Oriental following recent earthquakes.
