42% of PNP personnel fully vaxxed
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has recorded 103 fatalities due to COVID-19.
The latest death is a 34-year-old police staff sergeant assigned to a National Support Unit who tested positive for COVID-19 on August 18 and died on August 25 due to pneumonia and acute respiratory failure secondary to the virus.
As of August 26, the PNP has a total of 33,826 COVID-19 cases, with 1,750 active cases and 31,974 recoveries.
PNP chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar extended his condolences and assured assistance to the family of the deceased.
Meanwhile, 42.19 percent of PNP personnel are fully vaccinated, and about 47 percent have received their first dose.
