PNP prepares stricter barangay quarantine guidelines

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is preparing guidelines for stricter enforcement of quarantine rules at the barangay level to help contain the spread of COVID-19.

These guidelines will be communicated to barangay police supervisors who will then lead barangay tanods in implementing the quarantine measures.

Initial proposals include prohibiting large gatherings for celebrations, banning drinking sessions in public, and canceling fiestas and sports competitions that violate mass gathering and physical distancing rules.

The objective is to create uniform guidelines across all barangays to synchronize national and local government efforts against the pandemic.
