PNP readies personnel for 3-day transport strike

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is mobilizing its personnel and resources for a three-day transport strike from December 9 to 11, 2025.

PNP acting chief Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. ordered police commanders to coordinate with local government units and other agencies for a unified response.

PNP vehicles are on standby to assist stranded passengers, and personnel will be deployed to key transport hubs and main thoroughfares.

This mobilization aligns with President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s directive, guided by Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla, to guarantee public safety and maintain smooth mobility.

The PNP aims to ensure that the protest action by transport group MANIBELA is conducted peacefully and orderly.

MANIBELA is staging the nationwide strike to protest excessive penalties, slow processing of government documents, and widespread apprehensions and extortion.
