PNP nabs 110 suspects in September cybercrime crackdown

The Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested 110 suspects nationwide in September as part of an intensified crackdown against cybercrime.

The PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) data reveals that 77 suspects were apprehended in entrapment operations, 31 were wanted individuals, and two were arrested by the Women and Children Cybercrime Protection Unit.

During the same month, authorities filed 239 cases and served 118 cyber warrants, primarily for the disclosure of computer data, to bolster investigations.

These operations underscore the PNP's commitment to combating online scams, hacking, and exploitation, reflecting expanded enforcement and legal actions.

Acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. lauded the ACG's efforts, emphasizing the administration's goal of enhancing digital security and protecting Filipinos online.
