PNP medical personnel receive CoronaVac shots

Around 200 medical personnel, including three ranking officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP), received their first dose of China-donated CoronaVac vaccines on Monday at Camp Crame.

PNP health service director Brig. Gen. Luisito Magnaye, PNP General Hospital chief Lt. Col. Cleto Manongas, and the hospital's deputy chief Lt. Col. Raymond Ona were among the first to be inoculated.

PNP chief General Debold Sinas confirmed that 800 PNP medical officers and healthcare frontliners were initially allotted vaccines.

Magnaye stated that he had no fear of getting vaccinated, emphasizing the protection it offers during the pandemic.

PNP personnel assigned to assist the Department of Health in vaccine administration, members of the PNP Medical Reserve Force, and other police frontliners will also be prioritized.

The PNP had previously prepared a strategic plan, 'Caduceus,' for the security and public safety operations related to the vaccine rollout.
