PNP monitors 120 incidents during Holy Week 2025
The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported 64 drowning incidents during Holy Week 2025, a 49% increase from the 43 cases in 2024.
A total of 120 incidents were monitored nationwide during the Holy Week, including 15 fire incidents and 14 vehicular accidents.

The PNP has yet to provide casualty figures for these incidents.
Despite these events, the PNP described the Holy Week observance as 'generally peaceful' with no major disruptions to religious traditions.
PNP chief Police General Rommel Marbil commended his personnel for their vigilance and professionalism in ensuring a peaceful observance.
