PNP deploys over 64,000 personnel for Labor Day

The Philippine National Police (PNP) deployed 64,410 personnel nationwide to ensure security during Labor Day events.

PNP Chief Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil stated that the Labor Day observance was peaceful and orderly, with approximately 15,000 rallyists participating in mass protests across the country.

The largest concentrations of rallies were noted in the National Capital Region (NCR), Calabarzon, Western Visayas, and Central Visayas.

All protest actions concluded peacefully with no untoward incidents reported, according to Marbil.

However, a policeman was injured in Manila during the installation of steel barriers intended to prevent rallyists from entering Mendiola.

The PNP issued a statement affirming their support for Labor Day, recognizing the strength and foundational role of Filipino workers despite various challenges.
