PNP deploys 16,820 cops for election duties

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is deploying 16,820 police officers, currently enrolled in career courses and field training exercises, for election duties in the upcoming May 2022 National and Local Elections.

This deployment includes 1,208 Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs) and 15,612 Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs) from the PNP main headquarters.

These officers were formally turned over by the PNP Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development (DHRDD) to the PNP Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM) in a ceremony at Camp Crame.

PNP chief, Gen. Dionardo Carlos, emphasized the importance of ensuring the democratic right to suffrage during the elections.

Additionally, 15,813 PCOs and PNCOs from the 17 police regional offices are also being deployed by their respective regional task groups.

Carlos reminded the officers to remain professional, efficient, and courteous in providing assistance to citizens during their election duties.
