Law enforcers destroy P862-M marijuana in 9-day ops in Kalinga
Law enforcers destroyed nearly PHP862 million worth of marijuana plants in a nine-day crackdown in Kalinga from April 29 to May 7.
Operatives from the PDEG, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Coast Guard, and National Intelligence Coordinating Agency joined the eradication operation.
The operation targeted a marijuana plantation spanning 195,100 square meters in Barangays Loccong and Buscalan in Tinglayan town.
A total of 3,349,500 fully grown marijuana plants and 1,575 kg. of dried marijuana leaves were seized and destroyed.
PDEG chief Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta stated that the destruction disrupted the supply chain and served as a deterrent.
