CIDG serves search warrant on vlogger over alleged misinformation

The Philippine National Police's Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) served a search warrant on vlogger Jun Abines.

The CIDG served the warrant on Abines for allegedly spreading misinformation about CIDG Director Maj. Gen. Nicolas Torre III.

Torre filed a cyber libel case against Abines for a Facebook post suggesting the police official was hospitalized, which caused distress to his family.

Abines questioned Torre's health in his post, implying it was serious and referencing Malacañang and KOJC.

During the operation, Abines alleged that police confiscated his laptops and phones and prevented him from closing his bank and personal accounts.

Torre urged Abines to file a counter-affidavit outlining any alleged irregularities in the execution of the search warrant.
