PNP chief Gamboa hails frontline workers on Day of Valor
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa hailed all frontliners serving the public amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on the 78th Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor).

NHCP is confident that the country will overcome the COVID-19 crisis, stating "As with all darkness that our country has faced, this too shall pass. And we shall emerge victorious."
NHCP encouraged Filipinos to unite, persist in hope, stay in their homes, and support frontliners, the economically vulnerable, and those in the line of duty.
As of April 9, 2020, the Philippines has 3,870 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 182 deaths and 95 recoveries.
The government continues to implement counter-measures against COVID-19, including the extension of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Luzon until April 30, with other parts of the Visayas and Mindanao also imposing ECQs.
