PNP AVSEG, Customs seize P7M worth of ecstasy in Clark

The Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group (PNP AVSEG) and Bureau of Customs personnel intercepted suspected ecstasy valued at P7.04 million in two parcels at the Clark Freeport Zone.

The suspicious parcels were identified during a routine x-ray screening, and a narcotics detection dog alerted to their presence.

The first parcel contained 2,693 purple ecstasy tablets worth P4,591,275, while the second parcel had 1,431 tablets of various colors valued at P2,448,850, totaling 4,124 tablets.

Operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted an initial on-site presumptive drug test, which confirmed the tablets tested positive for illegal drugs.

Confirmatory tests will be conducted at the PDEA laboratory.

Initial findings indicate that the parcels originated from Austria, arrived on December 22, and were destined for a consignee in Davao City, declared as automotive accessories.
