PLDT nears PVL quarterfinals spot after defeating winless Galeries Tower

PLDT is nearing a quarterfinal spot in the PVL Reinforced Conference after defeating Galeries Tower, improving their record to 5-1 in Pool D.

Russian import Anastasiia Bavykina led the scoring with 22 points, while Savi Davison contributed 21 points and made key plays.

Galeries Tower, winless at 0-6, showed grit with aggressive plays, causing PLDT to struggle in the second set before they recovered.

Coach Rald Ricafort praised the team's recovery and highlighted the clutch performances of Majoy Baron, who sealed the match with a quick kill.

Key contributions also came from Kim Kianna Dy with an ace and Milka Reyes with blocks at the net.

PLDT will have a week to prepare for their next game against Chery Tiggo or Petro Gazz, either of which could secure their playoff entry.
