PLDT nears PVL quarterfinals spot after beating Galeries Tower

PLDT is nearing a quarterfinal spot in the PVL Reinforced Conference after defeating the winless Galeries Tower in a four-set match, improving their record to 5-1 in Pool D.

Russian import Anastasiia Bavykina led the scoring with 22 points, while Savi Davison contributed 21 points and made key plays, including back-to-back kills in the fourth set.

Galeries Tower, winless at 0-6, showed grit with aggressive plays from their import, which caused PLDT to struggle in the second set.

Coach Rald Ricafort praised the team's recovery and highlighted the clutch performances of Majoy Baron, who sealed the match with a quick kill and a soft touch.

Key contributions also came from Kim Kianna Dy with an ace and Milka Reyes with blocks at the net.

PLDT will have a week to prepare for their next game against Chery Tiggo EV, which could secure their playoff entry.
