PLDT secures q-final berth, eliminates ZUS Coffee

PLDT High Speed Hitters secured a spot in the quarterfinals by defeating ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles, 25-18, 25-14, 25-12.

The victory eliminated ZUS Coffee from quarterfinal contention, improving PLDT's record to 5-1 and forging a two-way tie at second spot with Cignal.

Import Elena Samoilenko was a key offensive player for PLDT, scoring 14 points with 12 attacks, along with eight digs and six receptions.

Majoy Baron also contributed significantly with 13 points, including four crucial kill blocks, and was named Player of the Game.

Kim Fajardo facilitated the offense with 15 excellent sets, while Mika Reyes added nine points and Kiesha Bedonia had seven.

Coach Rald Ricafort expressed happiness with the win and the performance of the bench players.

Meanwhile, Petro Gazz and Choco Mucho revived their playoff hopes with separate five-set victories.

Petro Gazz, powered by Wilma Salas' 34 points and Brooke Van Sickle's 24 markers, escaped Creamline.

Choco Mucho, with Mean Mendrez scoring a team-high 18 points and Dindin Santiago-Manabat adding 17, defeated Chery Tiggo to improve their standing to 2-4.
