PLDT High Speed Hitters reach first PVL Finals after beating Creamline

Savi Davison starred with 34 points, including eight in the fifth set, to power the PLDT High Speed Hitters to their first-ever PVL Finals appearance after a come-from-behind win against the Creamline Cool Smashers, with set scores of 27-25, 22-25, 19-25, 25-16, 15-10.

Davison, who also had nine digs and nine receptions, was named Best Player of the Game.

Kim Dy contributed 14 points, Majoy Baron added nine points highlighted by three blocks, and Jovie Prado and Mika Reyes chipped in eight points each for PLDT.

Setter Kim Fajardo had 25 excellent sets, while libero Kath Arado had 23 excellent receptions and 16 digs.

Creamline was led by Jessica Margaret Galanza with 20 points, while Alyssa Valdez scored 18 points, and Michelle Gumabao and Jeanette Panaga added 16 and 11 points, respectively.

PLDT will face the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, who defeated the Cignal HD Spikers in their semifinal match, in the one-game finale on Sunday, August 17, at 6:30 p.m.

Ara Galang and Cess Robles scored 15 points apiece for Chery Tiggo, who reached the PVL final for the first time in four years.
