Phoenix Fuel Masters snatch first win in PBA Governors' Cup

The Phoenix Fuel Masters secured their first victory in the 2024 PBA Governors' Cup, narrowly defeating the Blackwater Bossing 119-114.

RR Garcia steadied the ship, pouring 16 of his 20 points in the final frame and scoring 14 of Phoenix's last 23 points to keep the Fuel Masters afloat against a rallying Bossing.

Import Brandone Francis put on the finishing touches, nailing two clutch triples and a pair of free throws to ice the game, finishing with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists.

Jason Perkins also contributed significantly with 19 points and nine rebounds for Phoenix.

This breakthrough win improves Phoenix's record to 1-7 in the conference and keeps them mathematically in contention for a playoff spot, although their fate no longer depends solely on their own performance.

Phoenix now needs to sweep their remaining games and hope that NLEX and Blackwater lose all of their last assignments to have a chance at the quarterfinals.
