PH records 832 new COVID-19 cases from Feb 20-26

The Philippines recorded 832 new COVID-19 cases from February 20 to 26, a decrease from the previous week's 895 infections, marking a seven percent drop in the daily average to 119 cases.

No new critical or severe cases were reported during the week, contributing to a decrease in active severe and critical COVID-19 admissions, which fell to 370 from 406.

The country added 78 deaths to its COVID-19 toll, with only two occurring between February 13 and 26, while the rest were backlogs.

ICU bed utilization decreased to 13.5 percent, with 291 out of 2,163 beds in use, and non-ICU bed utilization dropped to 17.8 percent, with 3,191 of 17,830 beds occupied.

Over 73.8 million individuals, representing 94.6 percent of the target population, have completed their primary COVID-19 vaccination series.

A total of 21.5 million people have received their booster shots.
