Philippines to launch eVisa system for Chinese nationals in November

The Philippines is set to launch an electronic visa (eVisa) system for Chinese nationals in November, aiming to streamline the application process and boost tourism and trade.

Philippine Ambassador to China Jaime FlorCruz stated that the online visa system will initially cover travelers from mainland China and its Special Administrative Regions applying for short-term stays of up to 14 days for business or tourism.

This initiative, facilitated by the Philippine Embassy in Beijing and its consulates, is part of the government's strategy to enhance people-to-people exchanges and facilitate trade and tourism.

The eVisa scheme, first piloted in Manila in 2023, will allow applications to be filed online and be valid for entry through the Ninoy Aquino International Airport or the Mactan-Cebu International Airport.

The implementation will be supported by VFS Global, following the signing of a memorandum of agreement between Ambassador FlorCruz and VFS Global's CEO for Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Mongolia.
