Philippines logs 11,378 new COVID-19 cases; active cases drop

The Philippines recorded 11,378 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, April 12, bringing the total number of infections to 876,225.

This brings the total active cases to 157,451, a decrease from the previous record high.

There were 267 new recoveries and 204 new deaths, raising the total death toll to 15,149.

Of the active cases, 97.0 percent were mild, 1.7 percent were asymptomatic, 0.5 percent were critical, 0.6 percent were severe, and 0.32 percent were moderate.

Intensive Care Unit (ICU) occupancy in Metro Manila hospitals remains at a critical level of 86%.

The DOH noted that 34 cases previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.

Six laboratories were unable to submit their data on April 11, 2021.
