PPP pipeline includes 229 projects worth P2.77 trillion

The Philippines has 229 public-private partnership (PPP) projects valued at PHP2.77 trillion in its pipeline, according to the PPP Center.

Two new projects, the Public-Private Partnership for School Infrastructure Project Phase 4 and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority's Waste-to-Energy Project, have been added as of September 3.

Conversely, three projects, including the Philippine Retirement Authority's digitalization project and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority's waste-to-energy project in New Clark City, were removed from the pipeline due to failure of negotiations or changes in implementation mode.

Of the total projects, 165 worth PHP2.6 trillion are to be implemented by the national government, while 64 projects are slated for implementation by local government units.

The railway sector dominates the project pipeline with investments reaching PHP1.76 trillion, followed by land transport (PHP231.9 billion), property development (PHP207.15 billion), and justice (PHP163.9 billion).

The Department of Transportation is the top implementing agency with projects amounting to PHP2.83 trillion.
