Philippine Navy rescues South Korean ship with 9 Filipino crew

The Philippine Navy successfully rescued a South Korean passenger ship, Udosarang 1, and its nine Filipino crew members after the vessel suffered a mechanical malfunction off the coast of Burgos, Ilocos Norte.

The ship issued an emergency alert on Wednesday morning due to its inability to maneuver.

The Naval Forces Northern Luzon monitored the alert and immediately dispatched the BRP Nestor Reinoso (PC380) to provide assistance.

The BRP Nestor Reinoso escorted Udosarang 1 to Sual, Pangasinan, a location where the ship could safely undergo repairs for its mechanical issues.

All nine Filipino crew members aboard Udosarang 1 were reported to be safe and unharmed during the incident.
