Navy denies retired Sgt. Guteza and family held by PMC

The Philippine Navy has denied allegations that retired Sgt. Orly Guteza and his family are being held by the Philippine Marine Corps (PMC).

This denial comes after former Anakalusugan Rep. Mike Defensor claimed that Guteza is being illegally detained by the PMC's intelligence unit and that his family has been "rescued" and is now "safe."

Navy spokesperson Capt. Marissa Martinez stated that the claims are "unfounded, unsupported by evidence and have no basis in fact."

Martinez emphasized that the Navy conducted verification, including inspections and intelligence validations, confirming Guteza is not under their custody or protection.

The Navy affirmed its commitment to being a professional and disciplined institution.
