Philippine delegation scouts LA facilities for 2028 Olympics

Chef de mission Ricky Vargas has initiated preparations for the Philippine delegation to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics by scouting potential training facilities and accommodations.

Vargas undertook a three-day visit to Los Angeles to identify suitable venues for the Filipino athletes, emphasizing the need to act promptly as other nations are also beginning their preparations.

The team aims to secure a training site that surpasses the quality and equipment of their previous camp in Metz for the Paris Olympics.

Several universities, including Pepperdine University, Loyola Marymount University, and UCLA, are being considered for their world-class facilities.

UCLA's extensive campus, which will host a significant portion of the Olympic Village, is also a notable option for the team's base.
