Philippine court recognizes Tom Rodriguez's divorce from Carla Abellana

The Philippine court now recognizes the divorce decree obtained by American citizen Tom Rodriguez for his marriage to Carla Abellana, which was finalized in the US two years ago.

Rodriguez confirmed their divorce in June 2022, months after their separation and his move to the US in March 2022.

Abellana had previously filed a petition with a Philippine court in February 2023 to have the US divorce decree acknowledged.

The actress confirmed they are divorced and that the local court has recognized it, though they have not spoken or seen each other since.

While Abellana has forgiven and let go of her anger, she has not forgotten the past and would prefer not to interact with Rodriguez if they were to meet.

She stated that she is currently happy, attributing her recovery to her faith in God, and has emerged from the failed marriage stronger, wiser, and more vulnerable.
