Philippine auto sales flat in October as passenger car sales drop 19%

Philippine automotive sales remained nearly unchanged in October compared to the previous year, with a total of 40,014 units sold.

This stagnation was primarily driven by a significant decline of 19% in passenger car sales, which dropped to 8,155 units.

Conversely, sales of commercial vehicles experienced a robust growth of 7%, increasing to 31,859 units.

Sales of electrified vehicles reached 3,603 units in October, comprising 3,044 HEVs, 284 BEVs, and 275 PHEVs.

For the first ten months of the year, cumulative sales dipped by 0.2% to 383,424 units.

Passenger car sales decreased by 23% in this period, while commercial vehicle sales climbed by 8%.
