PH, US eye stronger partnership

The Philippines is keen on continuing the positive trajectory of its strong partnership with the United States, according to the new Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Ma. Theresa Lazaro.

Lazaro emphasized the "enduring treaty alliance" and the need for continued "robust and dynamic engagement across all areas of cooperation" between the two nations.

She stated that a robust alliance requires a strong economic foundation, united by a shared dedication to the peace, prosperity, and stability of the Indo-Pacific region.

The Philippines and the US are actively engaged in multiple dialogues to enhance collaboration in areas such as maritime cooperation, science and technology, democracy, trade, investment, energy, aviation, and outer space.

US Ambassador MaryKay Carlson stressed that Washington's alliance with Manila is "ironclad" and that America is committed to supporting the Philippine military's modernization while stepping up cooperation on maritime security, trade and cybersecurity.
