PH to host 2029 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship

The Philippines will host the 2029 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship, marking the historic debut of the country's women's national volleyball team, Alas Women.

The national athletes have been dreaming of this opportunity, which is accompanied by a seven-year volleyball development program.

Alas Pilipinas Women captain Jia de Guzman expressed excitement for the four-year preparation period, believing it will inspire the next generation of players.

She highlighted the success of the men's team, Alas Men, who with 16 months of preparation, achieved a historic win against Egypt and a close match against Iran in the 2025 edition.

The FIVB has committed to supporting and developing all Alas volleyball teams, with a focus on building a strong women's team for the 2029 tournament.

De Guzman stated that the team's performance in 2029 is full of possibilities, especially after witnessing the men's team's performance with their shorter preparation time.
