1.5-M more doses of Sinovac's Covid-19 vax arrive in PH
The Philippines received an additional 1.5 million doses of Sinovac's CoronaVac vaccine on Thursday, June 17, 2021.
One million of these doses were purchased by the Philippine government, while 500,000 were procured by the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII).
The shipment arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) at 7:15 a.m.
Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. thanked the private sector for its support, and Health Secretary Francisco Duque III stated that the Chinese community will adhere to the government's prioritization groups.
This shipment comes after the country received one million doses of CoronaVac on June 10, which experienced distribution delays due to waiting for a certificate of analysis (COA) from Sinovac.
