PH posts lowest COVID-19 daily cases in 9 months

The Philippines recorded 1,409 new COVID-19 cases on November 9, 2021, marking the lowest daily count in almost nine months and the lowest active case count since August.

This brought the total number of COVID-19 infections in the country to 2.8 million.

Of the active cases, the majority were mild (60.7%), followed by asymptomatic (8%), moderate (17.05%), severe (10%), and critical (4.2%).

Total recoveries increased to 2.7 million with 2,941 new recoveries, while the death toll reached 44,567 with 46 new fatalities.

The DOH attributed the low number of reported deaths to technical issues and fourteen laboratories failing to submit data.

Forty-two percent of intensive care units in the Philippines were occupied, with the rate for Metro Manila at 37%.

The Philippines was set to receive 793,900 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines on Tuesday, and almost 64.9 million doses had been administered as of November 8.

Nearly 29.8 million individuals, or 38.64% of adult Filipinos, are now fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.
