Men's curling team named PSA top athletes for February

The Philippine men's curling team, composed of Marc Pfister, Enrico Pfister, Alan Frei, Christian Haller, and Benjo Delarmente, were named the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) top athletes for February.

They achieved a historic victory for the Philippines by winning the gold medal at the Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China, defeating South Korea 5-3 in the finals.

Their path to the championship included wins against Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Chinese-Taipei, Japan, and host China.

Pole vaulter EJ Obiena also earned recognition from the PSA for winning two gold medals in European competitions in France and Poland.

Obiena's victories were achieved with jumps of 5.70 meters in France and 5.80 meters in Poland.

MMA fighter Joshua Pacio became the undisputed ONE strawweight champion by defeating Jarred Brooks via second-round TKO in their trilogy match.
