PH imposes travel ban on 8 countries due to Omicron

Eight countries and territories have been placed on the Philippines' COVID-19 red list from December 16 to December 31.

These include Andorra, France, Monaco, Northern Mariana Islands, Réunion, San Marino, South Africa, and Switzerland.

Areas with local transmission of the Omicron variant have been placed on the yellow list for the rest of December.

Travelers from red list countries are generally not allowed to enter the Philippines, with exceptions for repatriation flights for Filipinos.

Fully vaccinated Filipinos returning from red list countries must present a negative RT-PCR test taken 72 hours before departure.

Upon arrival, these travelers will undergo facility-based quarantine and an RT-PCR test on the seventh day, followed by home quarantine if the result is negative.
