PH envoy claims Duterte 'abducted by Filipinos' for foreigners

Philippine Ambassador to the UK Teodoro Locsin Jr. claimed that former President Rodrigo Duterte was "abducted by Filipinos" and turned over to foreigners, not arrested by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Foreign Affairs Secretary Theresa Lazaro stated she will seek clarification from Locsin regarding his remarks.

Lazaro mentioned there must be a reason for Locsin's statement and that she would call him to understand it.

Locsin, who previously served as Duterte's Foreign Affairs Secretary, also cited recent rallies as evidence of the country's impaired justice system.

He suggested these events are a "confession begging for foreign domination in purely national affairs" due to the perceived failure of domestic justice.

The ambassador implied that the nation is willingly and compliantly admitting its inability to address significant issues internally.
