PH Covid-19 recoveries surpass 439K with 518 new cases

The country's total number of recovered cases from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) reached 439,509 as of Wednesday, December 30, 2020, with 518 additional recoveries reported.

These figures represent 93 percent of individuals who tested positive for the virus nationwide.

The Department of Health (DOH) also reported 1,014 new confirmed cases and 68 new deaths.

The overall tally of active cases is now 23,793, and the death toll has risen to 9,230.

Active cases are categorized with approximately 79.7 percent being mild, 11 percent asymptomatic, 3.1 percent severe, 0.49 percent moderate, and 5.7 percent in critical condition.

Eight duplicates were removed from the total case count, including four recovered cases, and 21 cases previously marked as recovered were reclassified as deaths.

Quezon City led in new cases with 67 infections, followed by Benguet with 57, Makati City with 48, Bulacan with 44, and Laguna with 40.
