PH Covid-19 recoveries reach 449,052

As of January 7, 2021, the Philippines has recorded a total of 449,052 recoveries from Covid-19, with 360 new survivors, bringing the national recovery rate to 93.1 percent.

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,353 new confirmed cases, increasing the total active cases to 23,675.

Of the active cases, 82.3 percent are mild, 8.4 percent are asymptomatic, 3.1 percent are severe, 0.48 percent are moderate, and 5.8 percent are in critical condition.

Rizal logged the highest number of new infections with 63 cases, followed by Laguna with 62, the City of Manila with 60, Quezon City with 58, and Davao City with 54.

The DOH reported nine additional deaths, bringing the total Covid-19 death toll to 9,356.

Seven duplicates were removed from the total case count, and five recovered cases were removed, while three cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths.
