Business leaders raise S$4M for Filipino scholars at SMU

Philippine business leaders, led by Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, have raised S$4 million to support outstanding Filipino students pursuing higher education at the Singapore Management University (SMU).

This significant contribution marks the largest collective donation from overseas donors to SMU to date.

The initiative, spearheaded by Zobel as Chair of the SMU International Advisory Council (IAC) Philippines, aims to champion the educational aspirations of Filipino students.

The SMU Philippine Community Fund received support from various conglomerates, foundations, and individuals.

Notable contributors include the Ayala Group's Bank of the Philippine Islands and Globe Telecom, Filinvest International Pte Ltd, First Philippine Holdings Corporation, Gokongwei Brothers Foundation, ICTSI Foundation, Jollibee Group Foundation, Megaworld Corporation, Maria Victoria Cuisia, Teresita Sy-Coson, and the SMU Philippines Alumni Chapter & Friends.
