PH to file 'foolproof' case vs China over WPS

The National Maritime Council (NMC) stated that the Philippine government is committed to ensuring any future international case against China concerning the West Philippine Sea (WPS) will be "foolproof."

NMC spokesperson Undersecretary Alexander Lopez emphasized that the Philippines will only file a case once fully prepared with all necessary information, data, and proofs.

Justice Secretary Crispin Remulla previously announced that the Philippines is identifying an international platform to file a case against China for alleged environmental damage in the WPS.

Lopez confirmed that the Philippines will proceed with filing another international case against China once evidence requirements are met.

The Department of Justice will handle the legal proceedings, with the NMC providing further vetting and consideration of studies related to the case.
