Philippine agri output up 2.8% in Q3 2025 driven by poultry and crops

The Philippines' agricultural output grew by 2.8% in the third quarter of 2025, reaching P408.94 billion, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

This growth was mainly driven by strong poultry production, which increased by 10.6%, and crop production, which rose by 3.0%.

Significant increases in specific crops like palay (12.6%), onion (77.3%), and potato (47.8%) contributed to the crop sector's positive performance.

However, the livestock sector experienced a 1.9% decline, and fisheries output decreased by 2.7% during the same period.

This turnaround in growth is a positive development compared to the 3.6% contraction experienced in the same period last year.

Agriculture Secretary Francisco P. Tiu Laurel, Jr. expressed confidence that the sector will recover from last year's 2.2% decline, which was impacted by El Niño and typhoons.
