FEU's Petallo, Ateneo's Batas named Collegiate Press Corps UAAP Players of the Week

Gerzel Petallo of Far Eastern University and Kennedy Batas of Ateneo de Manila University were named Collegiate Press Corps UAAP Players of the Week for their outstanding performances from March 5-9.

Petallo led the FEU Lady Tamaraws to a strong position, securing solo third place in the women's division with a 4-2 win-loss record after three consecutive victories.

She delivered 12 points with eight digs and six receptions in a sweep against University of the East, and followed it up with 16 markers on 14 attacks and two aces with five digs against Adamson University.

Petallo stated that their team is "a contender na talaga ngayon" after their recent success.

Batas, on the other hand, was instrumental for the Ateneo Blue Eagles men's volleyball team, helping them tie with De La Salle University at fourth place.

Their combined efforts highlight the strengthening performances of FEU and Ateneo as the elimination rounds of the UAAP Season 87 volleyball tournaments near their end.
