Perpetual Help Altas clinch twice-to-beat edge after triple overtime win vs San Beda Red Lions

The University of Perpetual Help Altas secured a twice-to-beat advantage in the NCAA Season 101 quarterfinals after defeating the San Beda University Red Lions in a thrilling triple overtime match with a final score of 88-85.

Patrick Sleat led the Altas with 23 points, including a pivotal three-point play in the third overtime period, while Mark Gojo Cruz contributed 20 points, including a late game-tying triple.

This victory propelled the Altas to an 8-1 record, positioning them to potentially claim the top seed in Group A and face the bottom two teams from Group B in the quarterfinals.

The loss for the Red Lions, despite a career-high 28 points from rookie Agjanti Miller, dropped them to 6-2 but they still maintained their lead in Group B.

In another upset, the San Sebastian College-Recoletos Stags defeated the Colegio de San Juan de Letran Knights, 82-81, giving the Stags a chance to qualify directly for the quarterfinals and avoid the play-in round.
