The University of Perpetual Help Altas secured a solo lead in Group A of the NCAA Season 100 basketball tournament after defeating the defending champions Mapua Cardinals, 75-65.

This victory marks the Altas' third consecutive win and is considered a significant achievement, given their long-standing pursuit of a senior basketball championship.

The Altas' success was largely attributed to their strong defense, which managed to limit former MVP Clint Escamis to only six points.

Furthermore, Perpetual Help's defense stifled the Cardinals entirely in the final five and a half minutes of the game, allowing the Altas to score 10 unanswered points.

JP Boral was the leading scorer for the Altas with 15 points, contributing significantly to their crucial run.
